Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Treeada. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who we are
Treeada is a marketplace that connects music students with Maestros for online lessons and courses. The service is operated by Treeada ("we", "us").
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated.
- You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your password secure.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
3. Maestros and content
Maestros publish courses and lessons on Treeada. By publishing content, you confirm that:
- You own the content or have all the rights necessary to share and sell it.
- Your content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Your content is accurate, lawful, and respectful.
You retain ownership of your content. You grant Treeada a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.
4. Payments and fees
- Students pay for lessons or courses through the service. Prices are set by Maestros within the limits of the platform.
- Treeada charges a service fee on transactions. The current fee is shown on the pricing page.
- Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) may charge their own fees. Payouts to Maestros follow the schedule shown in your dashboard.
- Refunds are handled according to our refund guidelines, available on request.
Maestros are responsible for declaring and paying any taxes applicable in their jurisdiction.
5. Acceptable use
When using Treeada, you agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or infringes others' rights.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use.
- Interfere with the security or normal operation of the service.
- Use automated tools to scrape or copy content from the platform.
6. Intellectual property
Treeada's name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. Nothing in these terms grants you a license to use them outside of the service.
7. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that creates risk for users, third parties, or us.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it reliable, secure, and useful, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will fit a specific purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of San José, unless local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
